Steven Eckman

I have owned a consulting and accounting business for twenty five years.

Recently, I participated in the Professional Bookkeeper (PB) course given by Universal Accounting Center.  If I had found this program twenty five years ago I would be much more successful today.  It has helped me understand the different accounting challenges that exist in the various diverse industries.

This program can be a mentor for new accountants and teach them how to keep and maintain a full set of books for a small business.  It also allows someone to learn accounting skills and begin their own company.

I have now finished the Universal Practice Builder (UPB) program and understand how to better market my company.  The UPB has taught me:

1. How to locate the potential client

2. How to approach the potential client

3. What to charge the client

4. How to close the client

5. How to document the sale

The marketing scripts and tools have been invaluable!

At present I am finishing the Professional Tax Preparer (PTP) program to improve my tax skills and knowledge.  I would recommend these programs to anyone desiring to have their own successful accounting business.
